Well, October has come and gone, and I have some serious questions. Mainly, why is the new ALDI still not open?! At this point, I’ve been stalking that store and its grand opening date like a criminal. I drive by, I check for updates, I look for signs of life. Nothing. At this point, I expect an invitation to the ribbon-cutting ceremony. I’ve certainly put in enough hours supervising the construction from my car.
Thankfully, October provided plenty of entertainment to distract me from my grocery store obsession! I got to see Will Varley with Silver Lake Rodeo and enjoy a night at The Dirty Drummer. And let me tell you, there is NOTHING better than showing up to a concert you’ve had tickets to for months, only to discover one of your favorite local bands is opening the show. It’s like finding a $20 bill in your winter coat, only louder and with better music.
I also made it out to the Arizona State Fair, where I caught The Offspring in concert and witnessed the ever-entertaining Figure 8 races. Because apparently watching cars narrowly avoid smashing into each other is my idea of a relaxing evening. Between the music, the chaos, and the people-watching, I’d say it was time well spent!
And we can’t forget the most important milestone of the month. Bianca turned three! Yes, my dog is officially another year older, still completely spoiled, and somehow continues to run the household without contributing a dime toward the mortgage. Must be nice.
And in actual grown-up, professional news, I’m switching things up! After spending an entire DECADE serving on the same committee, I’m moving on to a new committee with the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR). Ten years! That’s practically a marriage in committee years. I’m excited for a fresh perspective, new faces, and new opportunities. Or maybe I’ve just completely lost my mind. Either way, wish me luck!
Here’s hoping November brings new adventures, great music, productive meetings, and, FOR THE LOVE OF EVERYTHING, an open ALDI.
